Will post pictures soon... Where can I get decent info on the FAO series? I believe I have a full set that I picked up recently (missing only Vatican and 1 other nation from second board) I have all paperwork, envelopes, documentation, original mailers even the "SORRY WE COULD NOT FULFILL A FEW COIN CHRISTMAS CARD AND TOKEN/MEDAL" No Newsletters sadly. However I want to get a value and figure out a way to store them in a way I can easily view them, they're the boards and not the book format. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
This is the best site that I know http://www.fao-coins.info/ Can you post pics?, fao sets came in many forms.
Where did you get them from?, I was watching an auction and a set of 12 sold for ~300 Euros. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271035714015?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 As a note for prospective buyers, ebay.de seems to offer different FAO sets in regular bases.
Are these something different than the single coins that say FAO on them? It seems like those sets are very low mintage, but I have a lot of FAO coins that aren't worth much.
They are the same, Boards and albums that have silver or Chinese / Indian coins are a bit more expensive .. If you are going to buy avoid the items with "buy it now" because they are overpriced and waiting for some one to take them for more than 6 months.
Nope that was not me... on eBay, not this time at least.... Mine was a bit less expensive and more boards I believe.
Here is the only FAO coin i have and you find additional FAO coins turkey issued here http://www.mint.gov.tr/tr/old_produ...=200#content.php?parent_id=197&content_id=200
A coins with the caption "FAO" are numerous. Here is very rare item of the Sovereign Military Order of the Malta's Knight.
