exta branch on 1999 connecticut quarter!

    hi,
    somebody know about this error? is it an extra tree branch ?

    I don't think this is a doubled die. The anomaly doesn't match any of the devices of the coin. In other words, the anomaly looks too straight to be a doubled part of the tree. It is interesting though. Could it be a struck-thru wire with the wire still intact on the surface?

    Could it be a die gouge? Then there might be more examples in the wild.

    It is a die break . This looks similar to a die gouge but the die crack is easily seen starting out from the rim of the coin and getting wider towards the center. die breaks and die gouges are fairly common on our newer coins.

    Again, what I might pay 25 cents for, someone might pay 5 bucks. So it's all subjective.

    i sent the photos to an expert work for PCGS I got this answer :
    "The Connecticut quarter has a reverse die break which is fairly common due to all the engraving in that area of the coin."
    i payed $10 to get the answer :thumb:

    Why did you pay $10 to get an answer you got for free a couple of posts ago? I wish I had money to burn.

    This is a freedom we should all respect even when we disagree with it.
    Heck ive done it so often ive thought about adding IN GOD WE TRUST after my name.
