Seems to me someone put together and posted online a collection of coin slabs. Someone is asking about an older ANA slab (pre-ANACS). I'd like to be able to point them to the slab website. And I'm NOT talking about Sample slabs. Can you point me to that site?
Conder101 posted threads on both the NGC and PCGS slab generations on the PCGS boards and perhaps the NGC boards, too, but I do not know of any thread about ANACS holders.
Hmmmm, then I may be getting confused with the Sample Slabs site. The slab I'm seeing has a label marked "ANA Official".
The first slab used by ANACS from late Nov 1989 through early 1990 had the underprinting on the label Official ANA Official Grading. It also has a large gold hologram with the ANA logo on one side and the PNG logo on the other side with AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION as an underprinting in the hologram. ANACS was sold to Amos Press in Feb of 1990 and a couple months later the new slab just has ANACS as the underprinting on the front label and has the new ANACS logo twice in a red gold color on the hologram. Both of these varieties used a six digit serial number that started with two letters. There was no barcode.
