I know we all love each other so much here that you'd never want to ignore anyone, am I right? But, even with the closest of families, sometimes you just need to take a break. I often tell my kids to ignore each other (they like to tease), but it doesn't work.

Have a look at this page:
    http://www.cointalk.com/account/ignored

You can add someone to that list, and voila, their posts aren't in your face anymore. Like magic. Got over it? Just go ahead and remove them from the list, and they're right back where they always were.

    Use it wisely! :)

I've never used it, but good to know it's there.

If you click on the member's name under their avatar, the little box that pops up has an ignore button. A little easier and faster to set up to ignore there.

But you'd have to look at their post to find it. :yack:

I used it for two members in the past. I was not proud of it as I try to be a tolerant person, (I believe), but two names, (I believe the same person), got to the point I had to. Its a great feature that should be used in lieu of internet shouting matches. As much as most of us are friendly people, some people, like oil and water, simply do not mix.

Thus far...only one person had me consider using it. Haven't actually "pulled the trigger" yet.

One issue you will still have though is when a member who you ignore is quoted. After all, the text in the quote is part of somebody else's post ...

You can ignore whole threads now too. Look near the top of the thread for the Thread Tools drop down menu and see the Ignore Thread option.

Thanks to the CoinTalk supporters for making it possible to purchase this addon from the coder, and to @Dougmeister for suggesting it.

Off to ignore myself, and divide by 0 while I'm at it.

I'm not so sure this is a great idea. If 2 or more people have a problem they need to solve it. not just ignore each other like a bunch of grumpy children.

I've been looking, but not found any way to do this yet. I assume you mean to restrict posts in a specific forum from showing up on the new posts search?
