Nice! Yes my friend and husband said they did not have or find? I have never been there but would love to go. Grandfather and grandmother buried in Spain sure the exact location but grandmother was born in Sicily. The smaller cents are beautiful toned. Thanks for posting.
Yes I was shocked she remembered. I was kind of like you seeing a surprise in one of your boxes. Lol! Kid in a candy store.
I enjoy euro collecting. On my last two trips to Europe I made a point of bringing a checklist and checking my change. When I'm overseas I like to use the local currency and not my credit card. Back in 2015 when I was in Iceland my card got hacked at the Blue Lagoon spa by some jackwagon in India.
Oh oh! Not good about your card. But smart on using their currency. Wow the only coins I will probably get from over seas are the ones from dad and when my friends go on a trip. They are pretty coins all over. I’m no pro but art is beauty!
I usually buy foreign currency at my bank before I depart better rates than an ATM or currency exchange at the airport.
I was not thinking when my friends were going to Italy. I asked if she could bring a few. Wanted to pay her but I really should have given her some extra $ to exchange.
Banks in NZ have stopped dealing in currency since the C.V.D issue. Annoying - there are a few distant currency dealers but they are very picky on taking currency back if its paper, or torn/dirty. Airport is the only place who will take and dish out almost anything.
It is actually German 10 cent. It is Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces108.html And here the 1 cent is Austrian one. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces57.html
