Struck in 23ct gold, 41mm diameter and weighing 13.33g, this is quite a chunky piece. The obverse mark is cinquefoil over trefoil over tower over mullet over coronet, indicating the die had been in use for 5 successive pyx periods. The reverse die which typically had a shorter working life, is cinquefoil over trefoil over tower.
