My niece is getting ready to head to Europe for school and I thought I'd get her a nice gold coin as a parting gift. I typically stick to US Mint coins, but thought a European coin would be better suited as a gift considering where she is heading. Any suggestions on a nice (reasonable) coin? I suppose it depends where in Europe ... whether you want to make it specific to the country (or region) she's going to, or just European. I can always recommend the UK sovereign ... timeless, gorgeous design and instantly recognisable, plus it has almost ¼oz gold (0.2354oz). That being said, the others listed there are also very nice, and I for one would be grateful to receive ANY of them as a gift!
