No matter what or where you purchace (hobby,Knock off clothes.,internet drugs,art...etc) you'll run into Rip off Artists ,try to buy from people you know & trust & that goes for our hobby (PMG/PCGS) or raw bills you know come from a trusted dealer . Letting others know who they are will always help in reducing the odds of getting ripped off.
I would not leave a hobby over a bad deal ,just live & learn from it . (IMO)

    Bingo!

Only deal with notes graded from the two trusted TPG's and stay well clear of CG"X". And yes. This ebay sellers CG"X" graded inventory were most likely graded personally by the seller. And very close connections still exist between the new and former owner. VERY CLOSE.
Always learn to grade yourself and you can never go wrong. However, buying via graded scanned notes is far from a perfect science. Actually it's impossible.

Seriously folks. Your looking at THREE ebay or heritage on line auctions of a 1899 $5.00 "Chief" SC graded GEM65 . One by PMG, one by PCGS and one by CG"X". Which do you buy because you know the grade is most likely accurate? When you see a GEM graded CG"X" note, are you like me? Do you immediatley say to yourself "is this one of those doctored note deals between you know who and you know who?? Honestly. How many times have you seen a CG"X" GEM65 described years earlier as "a nice XF with a center fold and tip bends"?

Anyway this thread has gone adrift. My opinion is this. Selling overgraded notes personally graded by the seller is unethical...period.
