    Found this on another forum and thought I'd ask the experts here what the heck is going on with good ole Ike's eyebrow piercing??
    What kind of error is it if it is one?
    Hope you all enjoy guessing and don't forget! 25 days until Christmas!! ( @Collecting Nut ).

    Woah, that is one unique looking coin! As to the error my first thought was that it may be a retained piece of metal that was struck through, but as I look at it longer I am not seeing much of any impression on the foreign piece of metal.

    I am thinking struck thru wire.

    Retained wire strike through is what I’m thinking.
    @paddyman98 Whats your opinion sir?

    Since it does not have any details from the upper die, I think it is something that is stuck on the coin. I wonder what a drop of acetone would discover.

    I'm thinking foreign material that's emitting something to cause that toning around it.

    That really is a whole new look, though, between the piercing and the eye-shadow. I'll never see Ike the same way again.

    I'm gonna guess it is a retained wood fragment.

    Maybe it's not on the coin itself. But on the surface of the clear protective material over the coin. JMHO

    This youngin was flirting with me the other day. All that I could focus on was the piercings in her face. Haven't seen her since, I am wondering if she was cute and just needed to remove some metal.
    I missed what you posted. Hope ya didn't get dinged too bad.

    Yep, piercings still kinda bug me. (I don't even like ear piercings.) But I've pretty much decided it's a me problem, not a them problem. I guess they can always just take the things out if they get tired of the 60ish guys rejecting their advances. :rolleyes:

    Not even close to that age yet. LOL
    But yeah, I am not the one to ask them to take them out either.

    I think that issue is not even on the coin. It appears to me that it's underneath or on top of the material that's covering the coin.

    I think it's toning from a foreign object.
