You have to consider who these guys are. They are collectors, not out so much like you and I to make money. Best thing to do is send it away to a grader, then you can come back here and brag, or maybe NOT. Remember that kid in your neighborhood who's dad was kind of a dork ? Kids were cub scouts and then actual boy scouts at 18 years old when you were picking up Chicks ? That is who these guys are, and here, they can act how they want, when they want because you can no longer smack them in the back of the head, call them a name in the hallway in front of your friends and so on. Here, they rule, and they are thick as thieves with each other. You don't stand a chance, plus, they actually know what they are talking about, way more than we do. Trust them, and if you get a great coin, they would tell you right away. They do not lie.
Just like i said its plain to see that this is a penny thats been altered. This 1945 penny is not showing the first sign of alteration to lead to deception. Peace
Spend a few bucks and send it in to be examined and attributed. You are not believed by anyone here, and you don't believe anyone so further discussion is pointless. If it comes back as you believe, which it absolutely won't, you can come back here with a picture of it slabbed and say I told you so. But when it comes back as altered, and it will, then man up and come back and admit it.
I just want to apologize for being arrogant to some of you although things were said to me also. I didnt join the site to raise cain or be disagreeing with some of you great folks. Please forgive me I retract all negative comments here. I will go another route with some advise from you guys here. I will let you all know about my findings. I also find this very hard to believe myself. I guess its like wishing upon a star, ya kno? Keep the coins alive my friends. You all are wondetful folks.
You can't possibly be arrogant. Arrogance implies you actually have some kind of knowledge others do not have that you then flaunt. You're just an ignoramus
Well... It ain’t quite as scary as Stanley Roper there...... Unnerving comes to mind perhaps. Just doesn’t fit a nice guy I reckon.
Of course it wasn't made in the mint from mint dies, maybe China. maybe US as it seems large enough to not be consider a copy. Do not inflame this thread more. Jim ( one of the old Evil know it all)
So you think that’s all who we all are, huh? And so you must have been one the guys smacking kids you perceived as weaker. Get a clue dude.
@Brian Calvert The only kid that ever smacked me around was the 6'5" 220lb center on a rival HS Basketball Team that got a Division 2 football scholarship (Still hit 10 pts against him my senior year). And don't diss the Boy Scouts. My son (picture in my avatar) is an Eagle Scout. He also plays D3 basketball, was the Freshman of the week in his conference once this year and leads his team in Foul Shooting Percentage and Blocked shots. It's never a good idea to stereotype a group. I'm pretty certain that I know what type of person would say that people who study numismatics are nerdy and unpopular, but I'll give you the benefit of a doubt and assume you're a decent, intelligent guy
Your a very bad example for the rest of the great people on here. No matter if I am a troll these respectful friends do not deserve to hear negative no matter what. Im sorry for my slang first, and hope i remember to be different all the rest of my dayz. Lets be stronger together my friend. I will not give my amature coin thoughts a chance. But, if you want to talk music I am 1 of the most awesome drummers walking today. Thank you and all the good you do. Peace
