what is it that makes you think this is an error ?
I see something in front of the 9. but the pictures are terrible and sideways. you might want to give a little better description and information to what you have and post decent pics of both sides.
I can make out what looks to be a 5 but no way to tell anything from that picture
It took a hit. Damaged.
Sorry im totaly new at this ill try and take a better picture i think its an S or a 8 in front of the 9 should be a 1 right?? Since i was a kid i took every penny i had and if something was wrong with it i put it in a jar till recently jus want to see if any of them could be something collectors want
All coins of this type left the mint with a 1 in the first position of the date. If there is something other than a 1 then it wasn't put there in error by the mint. It is either damaged by something accidentally or purposely hitting the 1 and making it look different, or someone added something to make it look like that. Bottom line - not an error and worth exactly 1 cent.
