Is this a planchet peel on the copper prior to nickel alloy coat or possible mint machine damage prior to putting in mint package of six quarters. Lets hear your words of wisdom. This is NOT mine 2006-D Nevada Error.jpg 2006-D Nevada error mint pack.jpg

Looks like it was struck through some debris.

Agree with the frog. Struck through debris. Nice find

The cupro nickel isn't a coating like copper coating on a zinc cent. These copper nickel clad quarters are made by fusing a pure copper core to two outside layers of copper nickel strips.

@MeowtheKitty what quarter is your major strike thru?
It looks like this one except much larger?

It was a Marsh-Billings-Rockafeller. Meow had a bundle of BU rolls, and it was the ender with the gooey object still stuck to it. It seems to be unique, as other coins in the rolls did not have any issues.

Meow did find about four Tallgrass quarters with an impression of a piece of string. No two were alike. The string was in different parts of the Obverse, and in different sizes. Maybe Meow will show them all off in a thread. But Meow is very busy with Cat stuff at the moment.
