*Error guess the grade!!* Washington Dollar Triple Error!

    Very nice. I agree with Bruce, I wouldn't send them in. Very nice coins though. The ones I find are REALLY RARE! All of mine are normal! :eek: lol Nice errors.

    Just to let everyone know, I sent the original coin in to NGC. They should have received it today, so I will hopefully have it back by the end of next week. =)

    First,

    These threads need better titles. It took me two days of sifting and reading to find this particular thread (apparently there are that many "Washington Error" Threads).

    I have about 10 coins with what appears like a die clash. The strange thing is, that out of all the boxes I've gone through, this "starburst" shaped pattern only appears on ones missin the edge inscription. This is too much of a coincidence to be a die clash.

    My best guess is that this pattern is somehow related to the inscription process. Perhaps, the antioxidant coating is applied at the same time as the inscription??

    My question to the forum is, are there any good references for reading up on the entire minting process for these presidential dollars. That would be the best way to try to match up this pattern to where it occured in the manufacturing process.
