Thank You Thank you I hope you'll enjoy my coins. I will update from time to time. The 1984 proof set Has the Penny with ????? I am sending that one to the PCGS . Thanks again Cheryl
Cheryl: I'd e-mail Mike Diamond (a member here) first. He'll be able to id the error. Hard to see from the pictures, but it MAY be a struck thru cloth. If so, most likely very scarce (if not, dare I say it, rare). Good luck.
Although it is really hard to tell what's up with the 1984-S Proof Cent due to the small pictures, I would guess that it was not Struck Thru but actually the Orange Peel texture seen quite often on Proof Cents! I am not sure of the actual cause of the Orange Peel texture but suspect a bad Copper Plating job. However, the Zinc planchet may have been improperly prepared before the Copper plating was applied. Hello and Thanks You may enlarge the photos my clicking on them I will try and send a larger photo Cheryl
I'm not sure what's going on with the proof cent. The photos are too poor. It could be discolored, which is not that uncommon for proofs. These are often termed "impaired proofs", and their value is nil. Then again, it could be a strike-through error of some kind or a plating defect.
Hello Mike and Bruce Thank you for your input on this coin. I am Working on getting a clear photo, I am also having problem with putting the image on the posting ( any help?) thanks Cheryl
I am working on it. I think my photos are to large. Thanks Cheryl I am new at this whole world of coins.
Is that good or bad? Does It take away from the value of the Proof Set? I have Pcgs In Austin, texas where I live and want them to look at it. Cheryl
The coin is not worth what it would cost to have PCGS look at it. You would be basically throwing the money away.
