Hi, I recently found a Brunel £2 and thought I would keep it! After showing a relative they brought to my attention some differences in the coin. The dot between the Elizabeth and DEF is missing and the Two Pounds is also slightly wonkey, I also noticed that the dotted border around the Queens head is also wonkey. I have a suspicion that the coin is fake but a second opinion won't hurt! Thanks Lizzie
I would need to see the coin in hand; however, there are other differences besides the dot with specimens on the Internet such as the distance of the legend with the inside beaded border. There are known counterfeits of these coins but the ones I have seen are VERY CRUDE compared to your piece.
