This coin has some cuds on the neck and face of the queen. But what is the the gray metal?
Is it steel from the die? I don,t think its been welded or some PMD.

It looks very much like solder on the neck, when solder is applied it usually forms a blob, the piece on the neck looks like it was sanded down.

well it really looks iike solder but the cuds on the neck and face are real. Seems odd that someone picked a good error coin to mess up with solder.

This may be one of the current circulating counterfeits as well. (Latest reports are that about one out of every 36 coins in circulation is a fake.)

Not a counterfeit conder i know that for sure. I have lots of
them in my change and i hate them. Most of them are cast,
but some look struck. I have carefully check the coin it is a real one.
