In this thread here, Ras has made a list for Roman Provincial rulers. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/rarity-rankings.256796/#post-2040850 I think it's possible that dealers could use the list to their advantage, yes. Just like some do for old RIC rarity ratings. The ERIC II rarity list has been out for some time now but I have not seen anyone do such a unscrupulous thing yet. Yes, market forces are at work here but then dealers and many dealers collectively have a massive amount of inventory which helps a lot in determining how many coins there are. But in the case of ERIC II list, there are a lot of collectors submitting coins as well. acsearch.info is more market driven than any database that I've ever seen, for example. I've seen a lot of dealers and beginner dealers try to use the prices on that site because many of the prices are quite high. As far as Balbinus and Pupienus goes. I don't foresee getting those anytime soon. To be honest, any coin that is way out of my reach, I ain't worried about it too much. Just like those super rare and richly priced Greek coins. I just window shop for those coins.
