Yeah I've noticed a downturn in dimes the past month or 2, from 3-5 per box down to 1-2. It's been a while since I found more than 3 in a box of $250

Dimes have been absolutely brutal for me this year...

    2010; 2.55 average
    2011; 1.37 average
    2012; 1.08 average

Not really worth the effort any longer.

To get this back on topic, three enders I've found recently.

    Merc,

Dimes have been brutal for sure, do you plan on continuing the search on them? I need something to pass the time while waiting on half boxes and have not gotten into nickels and quarters are just not worth the time I think. Plus my half boxes have been so terrible lately if I was not searching dimes I'd be finding no silver.

Was the dime ender from a CWR or BWR. That looks like thick paper to be a BWR. I have seen CWR rolls that are crimped like that on one end and open on the other.

Those are BWR, they're a different wrapper company than String & Sons. I've seen them a few times.

The ones you're thinking of are the NF String & Sons CWRs taht come pre-crimped on one end, and look like a brown paper version of their own BWR when sealed.

What carrier delivers those? I've not seen them in my area...ever.

I will keep searching 'em. They do produce, more than I can say for quarters, ya know. They were all BWR's.

Maybe you'll run into a cache someday brought in by grandma, that's what I'm always hoping for. Like ccit. He always hits it big.

Dunno, I only ever get them when people sell them back to one of my pickup banks. I never see the black and white half dollar BWRs either. Unless my local credit unions use a different armored car company than most of the corporate/regional chains, they're not available in my area.

Might be Garda, but there's banks around me that get those kind of rolls all the time.

This was from my megabox 2 days ago. The second pic is a double ender with some treats in between!

(sorry, can't figure out why the first pic shows up rotated when I upload it, it's right side up on my hard drive...)

Last weeks half boxes didn't yield much of interest. I had my first decent dime box in awhile today however. Pulled 5 roosies and this nice 39s ender. Filled a hole in my Whitman as well.

I hope the forums resize my ginormous phone images, lol.

Still hoping for a WL or BF ender :)

    Atreides,

Looks like you've been hard at work. Lots of dime ender, cool.

My first box ever was a box of cents today. Nothing terribly special on the ends though...

I started singing "one of these things is not like the other..." :) Turned out to be a '64D.
