<p>[QUOTE=&quot;as219, post: 838435, member: 24126&quot;]Just found this board, this is my first post!</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>It&#039;s exciting, <b>Daggarjon</b>, that you found Hanafy&#039;s book on Egyptian banknotes.&nbsp; For those who collect these notes (myself included), it&#039;s basically the Bible.&nbsp; I compiled my own data for many years, but Hanafy&#039;s work really has everything.&nbsp; There are, though, a couple of errors and omissions in it, some of which are quite interesting... <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie2" alt=";)" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" /> </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>You ask about <u>&#039;Al-Bank, Al-Ahli, Al-Misri 1898-1998</u>.&nbsp; I have seen this book, and I can tell you it is quite amazing, though, frankly, it doesn&#039;t have the kind of information that Hanafy&#039;s book has.&nbsp; It&#039;s more of a coffee-table book than a reference guide.&nbsp; That said, it&#039;s a true work of art.&nbsp; Two little problems.&nbsp; First, the book was made in a limited edition of 1,000 copies.&nbsp; Most of these, I understand, were given away to NBE (National Bank of Egypt) execs and other Egyptian VIPs.&nbsp; It was never meant to be available for purchase just anywhere.&nbsp; I was able to learn that the base price of the book, if you could find one, would be $400, and likely more at this point.&nbsp; I spent months trying to track down a copy through the publisher (Max Group), but after many phone calls and emails, nothing ever came of it.&nbsp; The one place where I know you can see a copy is at Columbia University.&nbsp; They have a non-circulating copy, if you can get into the library in the first place.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Good luck collecting![/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
