I have made several large wins at Roma... all great acquisitions, and was very happy with Roma. Folks make mistakes: Dead Sea Scroll, 16 fragments... https://www.google.com/amp/s/api.na...useum-of-the-bible-dead-sea-scrolls-forgeries
I have been buying from Roma for some time, and find them easy an reliable to deal with - the only negative is that their auction fees keep going up.
I hear you, Sir. I grew up with a constant failure of an Austin Allegro from British Leyland. It ended its miserable life in 1984, falling apart after a 15 km/h slow motion crash into a parked car, and was condemned to the scrap heap of automobile history. I feel that the least thing I can do, is to be a more frequent buyer at Roma auctions. At least those where opening bids are low enough to make it an exciting auction
I appreciate @Rich Beale answering all the questions so candidly. I would also appreciate it if he let me bid on all Probus coins exclusively so I can win some.
Very obvious from the outer rim cup compared to the fields. This one should have been discovered for what it is.
