"Electrotypes." Yeah, right.

Check this out! This seller claims to have 14 collectible 1793 Chain Cent electrotypes from "circa 1859." I suspect the seller is well aware these are fake, because they look nothing like an authentic Chain Cent, they're priced at about 1/3 to 1/6 of true market value for an actual electrotype, and he's got 14 of them.

What do you say? Let's all mass report this one?

I don't think reporting will do much, this guy I found is selling fakes and they are getting hundreds of £ in bids and people are falling for it and paying. He has over 8k positive feedback :(

I agree. I kinda hated to "like" a post with all those terrible fakes in it. :/

That last one is particularly cartoonish.

Edit: Just realized you might be referring to the fake 1793 cents I posted. They are the worst of the worst from the Shanghai mint, IMO.

he has tons of them on auction, dont understand why people would bid that much on a coin that they cant tell that its an obvious fake

    What is an 'unsearched ancient'?

It's "unresearched". Means he didn't bother to look up the city-state of the coin. Nothing worse than an unresearched fake. o_O

These tired old eyes completely missed that. Thanks for the reading refresher.

It's a money laundering scheme... driven by bids from his own diverse eBay accounts.

Now he has legit money from selling all these rare coins...
