Was at the show too. First timer. Traded a 1904 China Dragon Dollar (NGC AU58) for a 1901-A Prussia 5 Mark in NGC MS65, and also got an 1867-A France 5 Franc in NGC MS62 in the trade as well. Both nice looking coins, the 5 Franc is a real screamer and looks a point nicer than 62. And so, I didn't spend a dollar on coins. AND since I had ramon noodles, probably beat your Campbell's soup on the cheap-o scale as well. About even on hotel expenses, but I flew and the $100 for round-trip taxifare from and to the airport puts you way ahead.

Generally, a pleasant experience. I thought the lighting in the hall was bad, and no number of lamps on dealer tables can make-up for that. Also, the food was horrendous (and expensive) at the convention center. I really thought there would be at least one sit-down place where you could get waited on. As it was, most of the food vendors were way in the back and they didn't even have a counter to eat at much less any tables or chairs.

Also, I sensed there were a lot of dealers there for their last time this year. Guys who do the show circuit only and who are just hanging on by their fingernails. Unless there is some massive rally in precious metals prices over the next 12 months, I won't be surprised if the show is a third smaller next year as a lot of these guys give-up and pack it in.
