El Cheapo, you forgot the one biggest expense! You shoulda been sleeping in your car in the parking lot instead of spending all that money on a hotel!! Coulda bought another coin!!! Lol!
Lol. I love the half a ride. I'm hoping to be able to go in the future and I don't fly so if any ct members want to hitch a ride when I do start going
Spending that much overall is not cheap! I'm lucky if I have more than 250 to spend at long beach. Now that's cheap, wouldn't you say?
Nice writeup. Yeah airport taxis are brutal in Orlando, I am glad I rented a car. I will try to post the two ancients I bought later. Blew my budget but could not decide which to buy. It's my last time here I think though. Maybe if I hear better things about new venues they are moving to, but this one was unacceptable in many ways. I also heard a lot of dealers saying sales were way down and very concerned for their security due to the parking fiasco. I simply hate surfers at this point.
I think El Cheapo was kidding about motel... Him and I shared a dumpster in Chicago for lodging, which made for free food too....just had to beat the opossums off it first. Kidding But seriously those are some great classic finds, with some nice prices! And hillarious report!
I did buy 3 more expensive coins, but sent them off with PCGS for reholder/add variety. 1. 1839 Seated Half with Drapery PCGS XF45-$310 2. 1892 Barber Quarter PCGS MS62 (tripled die reverse) - Cherrypicked.-$310 3. 1892 Barber Quarter PCGS MS63 (tripled die reverse) - Cherrypicked and prooflike obverse!-$395
Hey, I was dying to drop into the SURF expo to check out all the surfing booty, man!! But you had to auction off your first, second and third born to get into that deal even though they could get into the FUN show for free. Travlntiques, I think I saw you two in the dumpster sifting through the food and throwing the opossums out one early morning when I had the stupid idea of trying to get a gold Kennedy!!
