I traded a lady on Facebook coins for bottles I got a lot of bottles soda bottles Coke bottles Pepsi etc etc she didn't care anything about coins she said they were her grandmother's and when she passed she inherited them she showed me a picture of all the coins she had and let me tell you it looked like a mess but a mess I would love to dive into so we're talking trading a post a few of them out here I have three seated Liberty dimes 1875 1890 and 1852 very fine condition sold those 3 for 45$
Thanks for that - You have got me thinking _ the Capitan of the ship probably kept the coins (approx 700) in a wooden chest or maybe a pot and there they lay together. The pot or chest eventually broke, and the coins were found.
