The bicentennial coinage was a big coin motivator for me as a coin hungry youngster and I am happy to see some of it getting attention.... But yes, they are still pretty much worth a buck.
It's a shame that those are still worth face value. Those big honking hunks of clad coinage should be retirement funds by now. But they're not
That particular strike/shading caused me to mentally image a bald Beavis. Once you see it, it can not be mentally dismissed. There is something about the swordfight scar that makes the entire appearance macabre.
I've seen them at shows going for $1.25 or so. If you want to make a little money, maybe sell them privately. I walked into my local bank branch a couple of years ago and the teller told me that someone brought in a box full of them. I bought them all, 60 coins total. I'm going to just keep them. No major varieties among them.
They seem to be bringing $1.50ea in lots of 100 on eBay? They are getting harder to get at banks, since a few years back cough cough the bank won't order them in. Sitting on about 700, I'd like a dollar slot machine and room to put one
