Roman Republic sugar cookie denarius, 2020 AD, upper west side mint.
Ex Agora Auctions, from the bakery of Cookie Obsessions
I posted this in jest of course, but later in the day I got to get up close and personal with a real example of the type(in a protective plastic capsule, but we must all make concessions sometimes). I've now seen 3 in person but this was by far the finest. This was the example sold in Triton. A real amazing thing to see in-hand
Starting price at 10,000 CHF. Described as " Heavily corroded surfaces, otherwise, nearly very fine". (19 mm, 2.88g). Lot number 743.
If I have a secret admirer here on CT who wants to offer me a nice surprise, please PM me for my exact shipping address.........
I saw this listed yesterday in Nomos AG's catalog. Upon seeing this thread bumped again, I was going to mention it.
Now I see why this thread was resurrected.
It will be interesting to see what this one hammers at.
Thanks for all that you do to keep the industry in check, Barry!
You saved somebody from a very expensive mistake! I don't think the current owner is very happy though. What gave this coin away?
A nice Fourrée for sale next month. Estimated at 2000 $. It's a good plan B if you can't afford the real thing...

Having your seal of approval definitely helps that coin (if it's the same example that's been offered around for the last few years). I couldn't stomach the eye-watering price but it'll be interesting to see how strong the estimate will be.
Thanks for the scoop ! Another one, not in gold, in the next NAC of October 6th :
Sold in 2006 (Triton IX) for 95,000 USD.
Resold in 2011 (NAC 62) for 240,000 CHF [263,400 USD]
Next auction : starting price at 160,000 CHF, estimated at 200,000 CHF
............................... TO BE CONTINUED.....
Now if you put that in your "Pick Bin", I would definitely buy it!
