I have an Edith Nanaka quarter and the inside edges seem to not be stamped all the way. There are no marks showing it was worn off. Not sure if it's anything so curious about it.
That is from grease/debris filled dies, if it was a weak strike the rim would not be full. Neat find.
Edith Kanaka’ole is who is honored on the coin. Yes, appears to be STG/debris with disruptions on both obverse and reverse. Definitely a collectable error for those people inclined to collect them…Spark EDIT TO CLARIFY: As a new member, STG means “struck through grease”. I always add “debris” since struck-throughs can be by foreign substances like nails, wire and fabric.
Good thing you specify "debris" and not the thing the D stands for with the S and T. Alternate is STP: "Struck Terribly at Philadelphia" which could justify why about 1 of 10,000 coins from Philly seem to have nice mirroring surfaces.
Meow found a quarter a lot like it. But Meow thought it was a dryer coin. Is the reeded edge there or is it worn away? The One Meow found had no reeded edge and the rim was pronounced like a proof coin. So Meow thinks dryer coin.
Whats a Mineral. There looks to be a reeded edge making this an error. If only some of the reeded edge is missing then this may be a combined error. Can you get some photos of the edge? Third side?
