And this I found on the 'sidewalk' in Reno, Nevada on my last few days there. I dropped it down inbetween the seats in my car on the way back from Heathrow Airpot and didn't see it again until last month. I then by pure chance after typing in to google 'Reno Coin' found it. It is a Gospel coin and on the website it gives specific instructions on where to leave the coins in places were people will find them and pick them up; places listed include sidewalks.
Love that gold!! I have just went through the whole thread and youv'e added some very nice coins to your collection. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more additions. PS... is that a quarter or half Eagle?
Indianhead: As a kind note, please remember that I am bidding on this piece. I do have my sniping software in place at this time and plan on bidding with only 2 seconds to go! [I hope that they take American Express.] So, please don't bid against me!
Julia Domna denarius, Rome mint 196-211 AD. Obv: IVLIA AVGVSTA, draped bust right . Rev: HILARITAS, Hilaritas standing left, holding palm and cornucopia. RIC IV 555
Half. Also good stuff Ardatirion, i had meant to make a thread but i guess no need now. Twas dug up in Lincolnshire UK.
It was a Barber Half. Forgot the date/mint. Unusually for someone over here I'm a big fan of the american coins. They have such fantastic designs to them.
My other gold. It is a gold 1996 European Cup £2 Commemorative coin. Here it is sat next to a circulated type of one of these coins.
That's a nice looking coin. I think that the North Dakota and the Alaska are my two favorite state quarters.
Got this today...as a present. (cost to them - $18) I am the sort of collector who collects one example of each coin type I take a fancy to and do not go by dates etc. This is what that replaced...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....6778&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab=Watching I just 'won' this on ebay... 66 pence aka $1.30. Silver Proof and in a Flag Holder. The melt value of the coin alone is $3.16
Here it is...$1.03 and another I got... This was $16 however. I could not afford to get them all...but I will collect the ones from the states I have been to.
