Cool! A little bit more impressive than my box-viewed 81% eclipse experience (it looked better when I blocked extraneous light from the eye hole)
The clouds rolled in for us two minutes after the max, turned out be pretty cool. I tried to make a pinhole viewer and it was a total FAIL. Luckily we had plenty of glasses.
I cancelled a flight to Nashville at 3am this morning because of a bunch of uncertainty regarding weather, the risk of missing any connections, and general malaise at 3am. I told myself I can see it in 2024. In the meantime, I had to quickly improvise at home. I basically held a pair of glasses in front of a 200mm lens and shot on automatic. Next time, I will better prepare. In the meantime, it got me re-interested in solar observation and photography. I may buy a solar filter for my telescope.
