Well, this is perplexing .. I've never purchased anything from this person but after viewing this post I checked any other items he has for sale including yours. The problem is that the photo & desciption do show the coin as a proof - when he mentions it arrives in a blue velvet box with an eagle - but the headline is wrong so it was misleading to read as 'burnished unc'...

So I messaged him about one of his other items with the same error 'you should correct this because it is misleading and will likely lead to seller issues w/the buyer ... and he wrote back 'you know, I think you're right - that's just what the ad read when we got them ..' and he did change the header on the ad.

BUT ... the rest of his ads still have the 'burnished unc' on proof coins .. so either he didn't bother to go look and change those or only prefers to fix once caught / informed - so I individually messaged him on all of the eagles he has adv as burnished uncs but are actually proofs.

SOOOOOO ... perhaps ... where writing ebay about sellers misleading the buyers (the mass contacting we do that seems futile at times) we may want to try the same - writing the seller on each item we note as inaccurate - by 'viewing sellers other items" ... copy & paste about correcting the ad. Maybe some are true errors???

Don't jump on me.. I definitely believe they shouldn't sell what they dont know.. that 'i'm not a coin dealer I'm just selling this thing for an outrageous sum of money' excuse is horrid and that all sellers should make the buys right. I'm just offering another possibility as I see this topic a lot and the frustration seems to continue rather than resolve.

Thanks ~

Thanks ~
