Do you really feel there is a difference in intelligence between men and women? That's just sad. However the crack about people from CA might just be right.

That's just so awful. Would have been better if it had just gotten lost in the mail.

Did you have anything in your auction stating conditions for returns? Doesn't eBay have any rules against a buyer destroying an item and then returning it? It's not like she can claim it got cleaned during shipping...

honestly, you have the before and after photos and that should be enough to prove she damaged the coin.

Actually I think you are going to learn the lesson here. The lesson is if you want to sell coins on eBay and have access to all their buyers you play by their rules or go home.

regardless of what happens I would eventually send her a polite message explaining that cleaning coins is a big NO NO. if anything maybe she will learn something.

If she cleaned the coin , she caused external damage to the merchandize, knocking it on the table causes dents... Shes bate n switch.... She may send u a fake back... Take it up with Ebay do not refund

I agree. You are getting some bad advice from the ebay rep and from forum members who have a beef with ebay.

The policies clearly state that the buyer must return the item in the same condition. You already have the coin back and you have proof the coin was altered.

    Do not issue a refund.

ebay has instructions for cases like this. Google ebay returns. The instructions tell you to go to the returns section, find the item, and then select "Report a buyer" for abusing the returns policy.

You probably already know this. But if you go the route to "out" her in an eBay listing or other avenue I would caution to wait first to see if you can get them to betray themselves first. Revenge is secondary to justice.

The problem is ebays returns are automated when they go through the return process. Once the travking shows delivered back to me, ebay auto refunds the buyer after 3 days. I cant stop it.
