He told me a friend of his told him I was talking about this here. Since you just started attacking me without reading my post and no one else has said anything positive I just figured you were the friend he mentioned.

Vic, I read this entire thread. I understand your frustration and anger. You were expecting a belle of a coin and instead, you received average joe. The seller seems either very confused or was trying to deceive. Either way, I'm glad you decided to change from a neg as he issued full refund.

As I type this response, I'm still on the fence about leaving the positive. I would have likely left a neutral. But in another thought, maybe a positive...lol.

Life's too short to spend so much negative energy on this seller. Bad experience? Certainly. Worth your time? Doubt it.

Wow. aren't you the guy critiquing me for not posting a pic I posted in the first post, and who had to be told twice where it was since you couldn't find it on your own?

Your house looks like it is made of glass sir.

As an aside, since you seem to be having trouble reading the thread I'll tell you no one else has posted anything positive about the eBay vender yet. Just you.

This confusion can be contagious. Luckily, I was able to find the photos and PCGS number in the OP, without relying on any of my years of experience on the interwebz. I also read every relevant post in the thread, prior to responding. My apologies, if as a result some of my posts do not fit in with the uninformed trend of this thread.:sorry:

I didn't experience that in your posts! I hope your response is dripping with sarcasm...

I know I should probably respond more without taking the time to READ and UNDERSTAND what is being said in a given thread.:bookworm: No, truthfully, my responses, interpretation and train of thought do not seem to fit in with the uninformed trend in this thread...;)

I guess we should be glad they took the time to make an appearance in the thread...

Everyone has opinions. I'm here to talk about coins and I come here expecting differences of opinions and significant criticism. And that is great. I just wish that if someone is taking the time to make any comment, good or bad that they first take the time to read it.

The only threads I respond to without reading are the "post a" threads. When there is a conversation I try not to engage if I haven't read the thread. Why would someone be interested in what I have to say when i state I don't know what we are talking about. I would feel like an idiot responding to a thread, especially using insults, if I didn't know what was written or why everything I'm saying is wrong . I feel that if I have time to comment I have time prior to commenting to read. Especially if I start using insults and I don't even know what happened.

I'm of the opinion that you've exposed an individual who has some real key issues with their listings. They don't affect me, in this case, because there is no shipping to Canada, but, some people here could really benefit from the warning signs you've discovered and experienced first hand. Here is my minuscule contribution...

Well if my experience was a mistake at least he is consistent.

His first paragraph was enough to tell me he is not the kind of customer I would want. His very lengthy rant, which I didn't care to read, was just icing on the cake.

I read his posts. They tend to have a point. I don't sell much, so, his perspective from a buyer's point of view does not bother me.

So do you sell coins with stock photos or counterfeits? The irony of course is
There is a real chance you have already given me positive feedback as this is the only slab I've ever returned.

Ok, we are way off of the original subject , and most of this page is about abusing other members and not the original conflict. I warned before, and it hasn't seemed to stop, so next ones to continue this unwanted trend, will be the ones affected, whether you are answering a previous 'insult' or not. Cease! Jim

I was posting some eBay listings today and it dawned on me what possibly happened with the sellers listing.

He didn't copy the picture of the MS66 from PCGSCoinFacts. Ebay provided the picture. A PCGS Picture.

If you enter the coin number (2619) in the eBay Product catalog, ebay will use the photo that's in the catalog regardless of grade.

Using the PCGS EBay Catalog provides some sellers with "stock" photo capabilities regardless of ebays rules since it's EBay's stock photo.

The only thing that is troublesome is that PCGS indicator right between the two coins but, the seller may have thought that this is what his coin looked like professionally photographed. I do know that many sellers on eBay end up using the PCGS provided photo's for various coins but at this point, it doesn't really matter.

Vegas Vic, thanks for bringing this to light. Not that I buy much on ebay & almost never sell, it was an interesting read. Certainly I will not be buying from that seller ever.
It opened my eyes about another seller as well.

I do want to know though. What is Matt's (LostDutchmanRareCoins) take on this? Would he back the seller, a coin dealer.. or you the coin buyer.

As a moderator, supporter, advertiser, and coin dealer I think his opinion would be very interesting. As opposed to moderator desertgem just giving warnings.

    You keep keeping on torontokuba.

A good and tedious read. Good points by many, bad form by a few. Nothing salvaged by the experience.......
