Man, SOMEONE is certainly off his/her meds! Joe, I know it's difficult to let things go (remember our PM's??? ) Well, don't lower yourself to this nitwit's level. You're MUCH better than that, and a bigger person, as well. I DO hope 'BOSSMAN' deleted his info and bams him (that might be a record!!). As the troll said, 'nice place you run here'. It IS a nice place he graciously enough keeps here for us, but we come here to share and learn, NOT to come here and EDITED people out and be a jerk, in general, ESPECIALLY in their first post, where the troll knows NOONE (certainly has the same attitude as NSS over on CU, just a liability to this place). They say first impressions are everything......they really are, and what a first impression!!. Should someone start a poll, rate 1-5....nah, nevermind. By the way, thanks for taking that particulae Futurama troll image...I was looking for that to post, but the thread certainly had turbo boosters and went whacko, like SCC!!! lol). So, here's my contribution: edited to correct spelling and punctuation, but not changing anything Frye has to say!
I couldn't agree more with the comic's sentiment, but it does include those words that aren't supposed to appear on Cointalk. A shame, really. Edit and replace the comic image with a link, perhaps?
Thank you for sharing Michael! Wow! That guy was a trip! Very angry. Of course they say you cannot deduct tone from an email, but his wording expressed anger and unhappiness. No one minds opposing thoughts and opinions but to be absolutely aggressive as he was, was really over the top. All the points he stated were stated before. Heck, I even agreed with half his comments in previous earlier posts but he chose to ignore those and only read what he wanted to read. He reminded me of a fellow coin collecting friend who I hang with that is super knowledgeable about coins but interacts very poorly with others. I actually got him on here a long time ago and he was kicked off for nearly the same thing. He just didn't play well with others. What I take offense to is him calling me greedy which cannot be further from the truth. I think some collectors have a hard time separating greed from opportunity and when asked to explain both they can't. I think most people on here can tell the difference.
Oh come on now! You charged $4000 for the coin, spent the money, and were upset that you made a mistake allowing returns. That's greed. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with greed. Even HSN allows returns when they sell an overpriced coin to some fool (and they don't complain having to do it).
I just wanted to clarify some of the facts. I didn't "charge" $4000 for the coin. I asked for more but was offered less. I accepted what was offered. I guess it is just semantics but "charged" has this harsh connotation to it like the buyer didn't have a choice. I was paid the money but it wasn't spent in the traditional sense of the word.....it was just transferred out of my Paypal account. I guess you can call that spending the money cuz it was no longer there. It was still available.....just somewhere else. In the process of transferring the money back to paypal, I made a mistake which I hoped I could share with the group. Lastly, as CameroDMD has repeatedly tried to clarify and as I will now again.....I wasn't upset about offering a return.....I was upset about the underlying reasons on why the coin was being returned. I would be lying if I were to say that I wasn't disappointed, but I definitely wasn't upset. When I think of upset, I think of my wife on how she acts when she breaks a nail or how I am after she rips the side of the car off in our very own driveway. That is being upset. This was mild in comparison. Remember....I never wanted to sell the coin anyway even when I knew I could get 5 grand for it as my friends were. One of my buddies, who has become a good coin mentor convinced me from a financial point of view that this would be a good decision to put the coin up for sale. I did, it didn't work out so back in the safe it went and where it will stay. That's all. I know Sodude that you don't mean anything negative by anything you were saying, but there are others who simply can't see the forest for the trees and simply don't understand that all I was trying to do was educate others as to what happened and how to avoid a similar situation. Its funny when you post something like this is called whining and when you post something good its called bragging. I guess my mind doesn't work like that and I am sympathetic to those who had bad issues and happy for those that have good fortunes. My wife always tells me that this is how you tell the difference between a democrat and a republican! LOL!
At least he writes "I REALLY could not care less" instead of "I could care less". +1 respect points for knowing how to use a commonly misused idiom. -100 respect points for his lack of candor when dealing with others. Why is it so hard for people to understand the intent of the OP on this thread? It isn't a matter of whining, it just a friendly heads up on how FeeBay's policies can bite you if you aren't careful. How many other businesses maintain a direct link to your checking account and can withdraw money owed to them as they see fit? With this sort of agreement, people doing business with FeeBay really have to be mindful of their activities.
People, linking objectionable material does not make it OK! If you quote something and replace the objectionable material with **!@# , it still violates the rules. Quoting it just repeats it and DOES NOT make it OK. Yes, he has issues, but that does not mean that you as a member have to lower yourselves to a different level and react to it. Report it and then IGNORE it!! You did just as he wanted by replying so strongly.
Minor correction. If each listing begins as a "new" listing, then yes, the box needs to be checked. However, as a seller myself, I often use the "Sell a Similar Item" link which carries all my selections over from the old listing to the new listing. By doing this, I don't have to repeat certain things in the listing.
