That would be funny if it was a real listing. (Then again, I've seen others list coins in "pristine/immaculate" condition when they are clearly worn...) Wow, is that quarter Brand New?!? Most of the quarters that come up in my pocket change look 2x better than that.
Nice. It would be a really interesting experiment for you to put it right back up on eBay, with your new pictures, a BIN substantially higher, and see what kind of offers you get...
Per eBay it was sold at $2500. Did you get it for less? And if I may ask what would you ask for this? I ask not as a customer but as a curious numismatist.
Pattern coins are cool, just a little niche. I've seen them go for that much and more but not in 63 that I recall. I'd have to look it up. After all, I'm sure there's different demand, maybe based on the artist or type, etc.
gotta love the stark unprofessional photo. (sarcasm). it's one thing to photo and ebay however you wish ... dressed or undressed... but to post a photo like that????
Well, here's one who's being up-front about cleaning: 1922 Peace Dollar, pro cleaning to preserve the beauty of this majestic coin Yeah! And "restore" it to high relief, and it would be worth thousands!
You were the only one who brought up "underaged female Child with no shirt", perhaps you should be concerned about yourself?
Here's a sad story, if true: Historic U.S. Silver Dollars 1.5 Troy oz Silver I'm really sorry for anybody who's facing financial ruin due to medical conditions, and I'm really sorry for people who buy Danbury Mint stuff expecting to profit from it. It looks to me like he's got a nice wooden box full of mostly-cull silver dollars, worth maybe $300 tops. Oh, and those other collections he's selling? Danbury Mint state quarters in a nice box, and Danbury Mint presidential dollars in a nice box. Sigh.
Danbury Mint Stuff... and he thinks it's worth what he's wanting for it.... What a shame... And I don't mean to be snarky if what he says is true about his medical condition, but you really do have to be careful when there is a long sad story attached.... it just may not be true and may simply be there to try to get someone to bite at that price.
“No defects. The items are all in perfect condition as well as the display box.” The only thing in perfect condition is the box
Does Amazon count? 2003 P Jefferson nickel - the price doesn't sound that bad, until you check out the shipping. Not nearly as bad as some of the other posts. http://www.amazon.com/Nickel-from-2003/dp/B00022RCPC/?tag=guffamzn-20
I would like to note a further detail in that Amazon link I didn't notice before... it LITERALLY says "Actual year may vary" a few lines below the price, so you may not even get a 2003 year nickel! I think it is indeed as bad as some of the other posts.
I see this kind of stuff all the time: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1919-P-1C-B...15?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item43d4029f73
