    Per the gray sheet,
    21-S AU = $60
    13-D XF = $38
    20- 63 = $19

If your grades are accurate, I would say that you did WELL!!

I think I made out big time. Im gonna keep shopping for deals. I usually do pretty good finding them too. As long as I dont spend my money on something I want first. And as long as I keep enough money in my paypal account, and Im patient, I do pretty good finding good deals. And yes RLM, my grades are usually pretty accurate. But the 09s is a tough call. What would you guys grade it??? Im thinking Fine.

Wow, congrats man! Even if the 09 S isn't real, you did pretty darn good with everything else! Man, I'm impressed. :thumb: I think the 09 S has VF details, but nets F-12? Either way, congrats man. :thumb:

It looks to me like it has fine details, but what is all the junk on it? If that is corrosion or permanent, it would net out as good or very good.

Sounds like you got a great deal this time. But be careful. If you shop enough on Ebay you will eventually not like what you get. There is no shortage of dishonest sellers on there and, given enough chances, you will eventually get burned.

All the gunk on it appears to be Ink. The reverse is deffinitely Ink. The obverse, Im not sure what it is, it isnt corrosion, but Im not certain what it could be. To me it almost looks like the coin was sitting heads up when the ink was spilled on it. I think the ink on the reverse is what ran under the coin, and I think what we're seeing on the obverse might be ink that has permeated the surface. Do you think this is a possibility??? Can copper absorb ink???

I think goo-gone will get rid of the gunk. As far as I know it doesn't hurt the coin..

Goo-Gone??? Never heard of it. But then again Ive never messed with cleaning any my coins in any way. I do have a pile of culls I can experiment with. I looked and theres 7 in the cull bag that look almost identicle with ink and the same discoloring on the obverse. And theres a pile of others that are similar without the ink. I always hear everyone talking about Acetone, and thought about trying that one the culls to see what happens. But even if they cleaned up perfectly, I think I would leave the 09S alone. I wouldnt attemp to do anything with it myself. But if the culls cleaned up, I might consider sending the 09S to NCS. Has anyone used NCS??? Is this one a canidate??? I have two other coins that are NCS canidates, maybe Ill just go for it and send em all.

It's a chemical solvent, very similar to paint remover. I wouldn't recommend it.

Like GD said, it's a chemical solvent, used to get rid of stuff like glue, paint, etc. Works, but wouldn't recomend it for coins. Would most likely not only discolor it, but possibly damage it even more. Acetone will only work for PVC if I remember right. Could be wrong though. What you might want to do is purchase a commercial coin dip possibly. Experiment though a little with it like with the culls you mentioned. It's like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, try to get rid of the stuff, you can damage it even more. Leave it alone, it can do future damage, like corrosion. So, in the end I guess it's up to you. I don't know if it would be worth sending to NCS or not, might. I do hear they do a great job though. So, my best advice would be to maybe look into it. Hope this helps a bit man! :thumb: Best of luck.

The easy way is to use a propane torch and melt it into a ball. :D
