This appeared several months ago on CT and it was cleared up when e-Bay issued an official statement that they would continue to handle coin sales. The source quoted by this thread is not a valid or recognized news source.
Doesn’t anybody read the posts? Old articles and statements do not support reality. Make the switch then go ahead and try to list coins and report back.
I was bein' facetious [sarcastic]. Internet Photo-Chop garbage isn't always truth (sometimes it is truth ; the rest of the time it IS garbage ). Thought my cynicism was obvious .......
Many times the answer is no! As of today we really don't know what exactly will happen until some coin sellers switch over and report their results back to us (I'm not too optimistic at the moment over this being even remotely smooth).
End of discussion is what I say. You heard it here first. Money talks. Coins will NOT be dismissed from ebay.
They will be for a bit as they still shockingly haven't worked out allowing payments for coins with their processor. If they keep coin sellers on PayPal until they do it's not a big deal but if they switch them over before they do there's no reason to keep paying store fees for a store you can't even use
Yeah, eBay's statement about delaying the switch for people who "frequently" sell in those categories isn't especially reassuring. I sell maybe a couple of things a year. It's nearly always coins, but is that "frequent"? What if someone sells a hundred Beanie Babies a month, but relies on income from the few five-figure slabbed numismatic rarities they sell over the course of a year?
I'm really more worried about their ability to correctly implement the delay than anything. Pretty much every change they make always has glitches and I have a feeling a number of people or a large number will be switched anyways and told we're so sorry nothing we can do
