To the OP, I don't think they changed the rules, I simply think it either got through the cracks, or nobody has reported the listing (or they've not responded to it yet). They are pretty good about removing these things, from all that I read and see on this topic....Mike
Just a follow up for those that wonder if reporting does any good. Dear XXXXXXXX, Thanks for reporting these listings to us. I investigated these listings and confirmed that they violated our Selling Currency policy. As a result, I removed the listings. Again, thank you for your report. We appreciate your help in keeping eBay a safe and reputable forum to conduct business. FWIW, 270850312800 was not removed because it is a Canadian listing. Those rules only apply to US listings.
Interesting. I must be doing something wrong as I did a search when I posted the above and only found 1 auction that had some SGS coins mixed in with a lot for sale. What are your using for your search text? I used SGS certified. And I just went under Coins and did a search for SGS and turned up 11 auctions. Most of them paper money. I don't know what you are seeing, but back in 2006 there were literally hundreds of auctions with these coins for sale. I stand by my post. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_npmv=3&_trksid=p3910.m570.l1313&_nkw=SGS&_sacat=11116
Do an advanced search for the user ID of SGS... you will find over 2,500 auctions. If you want his ID, just PM me. I'm not sure we can post it in a public forum. The thing is, he no longer used "SGS" in his auction titles... thus, there is no violation of eBay rules. Even the lowest of TPG's may show photos of their "slabs", but can't mention grade in their auction title.
There still are. They just do not say SGS. Try looking at these listings. http://www.ebay.com/sch/aboncom/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=200&_sop=10&_rdc=1 They don't say SGS or MS70, but that is exactly what most of them are. And his 177,000 feedback came mostly from just those things.
