This one wasn't an easy GTG. I don't know if the TPG's even know the difference between a BS and an SMS sometimes. I personally think that this one is a BS, and not an SMS. It has many characteristics of an early die state, without the mirrored look to it. Anyone who guessed 67 got this one right IMO. the tie breaker would go to @Morgandude11 for the ANACS slab. Honorable mentions @mrweaseluv @Lem E @AdamL @Santinidollar
Definitely early die state, which may have thrown off the lower guessers. The surfaces are beautiful, and ANACS got it right, IMO.
I have had this one a while, I am on the ropes, It is going into my soap box slab collection. We may never know.
I have a few 66 that are close. I am just not sure that the FS is used for the SMS. Isn't that just a BS designation?
Didn't see it in time to GTG, but have seen many/various SMS sets/coins that aren't all that PL or mirrored...could have gone either way.
I can only hope you can find one in FS, as that would give me incentive to locate one myself. That's the first thing I look for on an SMS nickel. They say close only counts in horseshoes.
