    Coin I have never posted/ my of my first coins.....
    East India Company/ Madras Presidency
    AV Mohur 1819
    Calcutta Mint

    Here are my 'company' coins!

    From left to right:
    1.British East India Company half Anna.
    2.(top) French Indian Fleur de lis type, Puducherry mint( city name in Tamil on the reverse. Circa 1700s
    (bottom) Rooster type with the same reverse, 1836
    3. Danish-Norwegian, minted by the Danish East Indian Company in the city Tranquebar under king Christian V in the late 1600s.
    4.(top) Dutch East Indian Company minted ‘duit’ coin, 1766.
    (bottom) a 1695 Dutch Indian duit coin minted in the city of Negapatnam, written in Tamil on the reverse with the Hindu god Kali on the obverse!

    And a couple of British Indian coins from the Presidencies.
    1802 Double Fanam from Madras Presidency (Chennai), and 1819 one Rupee from Bengal Presidency (Kolkata).

    Struck this coin over seven regions
    Reverse in Persian Arabic:
    Struck at Farrukhaad in the year 45 of his reign associated with tranquil prosperity

    Silver, 27 mm, 11.64 gm, KM-415
    Obverse in Persian Arabic:
    Aziz-ud-din Muhammad Alamgir, Emperor and fighter for Islam, Auspicious coin, 1172
    Reverse in Persian Arabic:
    Struck at Arcat in the year 6 of his reign associated with tranquil prosperity
    Mintmark: Closed lotus (Madras)

    Benares 1197 24.jpg Benares AH 1197 17/24 The cross-crosslet below the fish replaced the three points below the fish of the previous year. This was an intentional change of control marks that I think indicates the EIC taking full control of the mint from the darogah.
