my regular coins such as my Morgans are stored in 2x2 plastic airtites and are inside 2x2 storage box's... as for my proofs.. I usually buy them in fancy cases that are great for storage and display... all of my good coins are inside my safe with a 40 gram silica gel container (it takes the moisture out of the safe) my other coins that arent worth as much are all over the place.. I have a couple hundred sitting on my desk right this minute doing nothing waiting for 2x2 cardboard holders

I collect the state quarters from my pocket change and put them in quarter tubes and put the quarter tubes in boxes for roles... they fit right in there...

I have tubes of wheat pennys laying around and tubes of world coins that need to be measured and 2x2's gotten for them... least to say I have tons of stuff that needs to be done...

I have a bunch of 2x2 boxes that have cardboard 2x2's in them... I also have a couple of binders that I have 2x2 sleeves for.. each sleeve holds 20 2x2 cardboard holders...

Kathy I suspect aslong as your coins are in air tites to were they cant touch the metal in the ammo cases or in atleast some form of protection... I doubt the cases will hurt the coins.. aslong as there kept inside a dry.. room temperature place maybe a small silica gel packet could be used as metal tends to create more condensation when temperature fluxuates which creates humidity inside the case which could lead to some corroded coins... if you have silica packets I would use them... but maybe if the coins are inside airtites inside the ammo case they might be safe.. I cant be sure...

I hope I helped some.. If im incorrect in any way Im sure one of the more advanced coin collectors on this site could be of more assistance

Mach
I have a couple hundred sitting on my desk right this minute doing nothing waiting for 2x2 cardboard holders :) I collect the state quarters from my pocket change and put them in quarter tubes and put the quarter tubes in boxes for roles... they fit right in there...
