<p>[QUOTE=&quot;MIGuy, post: 24553975, member: 116145&quot;]So I&#039;ve only submitted to ICG in the past (I love ICG, I love the grading and how accessible / helpful the customer service is, and I love the CoinTalk special) but ANACS is having a Spring special - $129 for 10 coins plus $13 per additional (US Mint only) and I had that $150 credit at NGC so I was going to try them too.&nbsp; I&#039;m also preparing an ICG submission, but I&#039;m holding off on that one for a few more pieces.&nbsp; Typically ICG has turned my submissions around in 3 weeks.</p><p><br /></p><p>Today I shipped the following to NGC - Standard Grading Tier - on 2 Submission forms (Pdf fillable) / separate invoices:&nbsp; First form to NGC - 11 Colonial Coppers - a mix of tokens and state issues.&nbsp; 2nd form to NGC - 4 World coins.&nbsp; No extras, $485 on form 1 and $160 plus $10 handling on form 2.&nbsp; I requested they ship back together, so after my credit and reduced shipping I&#039;m calculating $505 out of pocket.&nbsp; Pretty steep but none qualified for the cheaper &quot;Economy&quot; or &quot;Modern&quot; tiers.&nbsp; I also checked the $0 &quot;Appearance Review&quot; box, whatever that is.&nbsp; I am a bit puzzled that they don&#039;t ask you what the coin is - just the country, coin date, mintmark, denomination and MS/PF.&nbsp; So for things like the 1795 Washington &quot;Grate&quot; Half Penny I just put country, &quot;Colonial US&quot;; date of 1795 and denomination of &quot;half penny&quot;.&nbsp; I hope they actually identify it on the label as a 1795 &quot;Washington &quot;Grate&quot; Half Penny, Small Buttons, Reeded Edge&quot; which is the basic description for same.&nbsp; There was no VarietyPlus designation for Colonials on their website.&nbsp; I did contact customer service twice for clarification - which wasn&#039;t clear - and I included a cover letter asking them to contact me if there was any uncertainty, stating my concerns in this regard.&nbsp; I have purchased Colonial Coppers in NGC slabs, so I know they do them - so I&#039;ll trust in the process.</p><p><br /></p><p>ANACS - 1 submission form (hand filled in) - 15 US Mint coins, mostly early Large Cents &amp; Half Cents, some SLQs, Capped Bust and one 1878 cc Morgan.&nbsp; I also included a 1773 Virginia half penny - I&#039;m not sure that fit in, as it was pre-federal, but we&#039;ll see what happens.&nbsp; 15 Coins - 10 for $129 and 5 more for $13 each.&nbsp; I selected &quot;Attribute&quot; on 4 of them, which is an additional $15 research fee each for those.&nbsp; Total with invoice with return shipping and insurance - $299.</p><p><br /></p><p>Both boxes were shipped USPS Priority - Restricted Insured Signature Required.&nbsp; I am a bit concerned about the NGC submission, especially given the cost, but I&#039;m feeling good about ANACS.&nbsp; The race is on to see which comes back first and how they graded!&nbsp; Any guesses?&nbsp; I hear NGC is slow, but I did go with Standard Tier and ANACS says additional time is necessary for &quot;Attribution&quot; submissions - plus it&#039;s the special.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
