I always enjoy looking at your pictures and threads. Christian, that is an interesting bit of info. I am not too good with modern European geography. Your location says 'NW . DE . EU' so you live in Germany then I take it? On my mother's side, my Grandmother was from Germany, a city called Marburg(sp?) and my Grandfather was from Copenhagen, Denmark. My mother said something about there being more than one Marburg in Germany though... she said the one that her mother was from was a University town, and possibly near a river.... not that that is much help heh. The Grandmother from Germany, her maiden name was Hisgen. I don't know if Siberian man, or anyone else here is interested in the coins of Deutsch Ostafrika, but I was wondering what you guys think of this 1906 J - 1 heller. I already know the info on it, mintage et cetera. I was just wondering what you guys think of the condition... it looks pretty nice to me, almost like it has some remaining lustre, despite the noticeable wear... it's hard to tell as I took the photos through a coin flip. I found this coin in the '5 for a dollar' wold coin bin at my coin shop. Quite a good find, .20cents US well spent heh.[/QUOTE]
