<p>[QUOTE=&quot;Vess1, post: 714611, member: 13650&quot;]I had a great day at the Dubuque show today.&nbsp; This was the first show my wife went with me to.&nbsp;&nbsp; Just to check it out and see what one was like.&nbsp;&nbsp; Her first and probably her last.&nbsp; No miracles happened. lol</p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; First time I&#039;ve been to the Diamond Jo casino and it is quite a large complex.&nbsp;&nbsp; It was a great place to have a show.&nbsp; Really nice venue.&nbsp; After going through the huge first floor casino, we took the escalator up to the second level to where this small show was held.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp; As you can imagine, everything in this place is top of the line.&nbsp; No expense spared.&nbsp; &nbsp; You almost could have held a small show in the bathrooms and felt ok about it!&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp; Anyway, we went into the show.&nbsp; Not that busy.&nbsp; A moderate crowd.&nbsp; An excellent selection of everything I was looking for which was nickels today.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Got there about 10:30.&nbsp;&nbsp; Looked around till noon.&nbsp; &nbsp; Got hungry and we decided to walk down the hall to this real nice bar.&nbsp; Certainly the nicest one I&#039;ve seen around here.&nbsp; &nbsp; Roughly a 50x30 room, I estimate.&nbsp;&nbsp; They had NFL Sunday ticket and I got to watch my fantasy players in all the early games on no less than <b>17</b>- 32 inch flat screens and 2 large 8 ft screens side by side!&nbsp; &nbsp; All while eating a (pretty much gourmet) 2/3rd pound bacon cheese burger.&nbsp; &nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp; When we left the bar, we noticed to the right of us was roughly a 20 lane bowling alley with more tvs everywhere playing the ticket.&nbsp; This is all on the second floor.&nbsp; And only part of the complex.&nbsp; &nbsp; </p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp; My only complaint was that it was smokey.&nbsp;&nbsp; They still allow smoking in casinos and this would have bothered a lot of non-smokers who have gotten used to the bans in both IL and IA.</p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp; So anyway, we went back to the show.&nbsp; Today was a pretty no non-sense trip for me.&nbsp; Strictly stuck to the sets I&#039;m working on.&nbsp;&nbsp; Picked up some nickels and a couple token MS Franklins for that set.&nbsp; &nbsp; Paid anywhere from 10-25% off prices listed on the 2x2s.&nbsp;&nbsp; But they still made a little profit no doubt.&nbsp;&nbsp; Got quite a few decent coins without breaking the bank.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; Ran across a couple buffalo rainbow toners!!&nbsp; Wasn&#039;t expecting that at all.&nbsp; I came an hour and a half late and I couldnt believe they were still there.&nbsp; There was no premium for the toning.&nbsp; I&#039;ve seen this type of toning before.&nbsp;&nbsp; One was a 1913-TY 1 that I needed and the other was a 1938-D that I didn&#039;t need but bought it anyway to fill an extra hole next to the one I&#039;ve got.&nbsp; &nbsp; Don&#039;t know if they&#039;re AT or NT, but I was thrilled with them.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Also got some common 38-P,D,S Jefferson&#039;s to finish out the blank spaces in the buffalo album which I&#039;d been meaning to do.&nbsp; </p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp; Have anther 6 months till the next show I&#039;ll be attending which will be quite a bit larger and a first visit for me as well.</p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp; Here&#039;s a few pics of today&#039;s haul and the toners.&nbsp; These shouldn&#039;t look too bad in the album. <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie8" alt=":D" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" />&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>The pics really don&#039;t do them justice though.&nbsp; I couldn&#039;t capture it any better.</p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp; <img src="http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f203/vessxpress1/coinalbum2/nickels.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f203/vessxpress1/coinalbum2/1913TYIObv.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f203/vessxpress1/coinalbum2/1913TYIRev.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f203/vessxpress1/coinalbum2/1938-DObv.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f203/vessxpress1/coinalbum2/1938-DRev.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" />[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
