I went to my second bank today to get some washington dollar coins, all they had were 2 left. So i bought them and started looking through them. I didnt find any smooth edge coins, but i did find 2 coins that look like they have dropped letters. One coin has an almost complete G, about 80% complete, between the N in IN and the G in GOD. Its faint, but you can see it with my loupe. The second coin has a few spots, but 2 in particular i can see a backward S and either a O or a 0, again they are faint but i can see them with my loupe.

Heres my question, and sorry if its been asked before....

Does a letter like this, one that doesnt belong, need to be seen with the naked eye before its 'counted' ? What would be the best way to see if its really a dropped letter (or whatever this type is called). I dont have any dealers near me. I thought about sending it to be graded, but dont want to wasted the money for it to be body bagged if its not really what i think it is .... Does anyone know what i should look for to determine if they are really dropped letters? They all look like they are backwards, and they all look raised above the surface (but like i mentioned its not raised very far so it is faint to see)...

thanks for the help !!!
