While I grieve for their families, the mines involved we tiny scale operations. I doubt there will be a perceptible affect on gold supplies.
I seriously doubt that any beyond a couple of kilos have been removed from them total. You have to see these types of mines to realize the risk and small reward, but yet significant in regard to the local income pattern. The tragic deaths rather than any lost gold is the story.
