And, we're out again. 20+ inches of snow in the past 48 hours was too much I guess. Our whole neighborhood is dark. I'm on battery power, as long as that lasts.
Surprisingly, we do not get ice storms here (that I know of), and our snowfall in the Basin is pretty minimal. The mountains that surround us are the ones that get most of the snow. The only thing we really have to worry about is plain and simple cold. We're on electric here and power went out last week, but trucks were out and problem fixed within a few hours. We're supposed to get a bit of snow, along with higher temps in the teens by Christmas. But, we've been a few weeks now with temps between -25 to 5F. Lots of cold, but no ice or snow problems. Good luck with your electric. At least you have a good source of heat there!
I live upstate Ny in the catskill mountains and we were just got invaded by two snowstorms in a row in a weeks time altogether about a foot and half The weather today is 5 degress and with the wind chill factor about 20 below zero it's like putting your head in the freazer for a couple of seconds The problem with this it;s just the begining of winter an d we are already over our snow mark for the year. will be bying extra thermals to wear. keep warm everybody there;s more to come.
To heck with that. This weather is awesome. I hate anything over 65 degrees F. It's 0 here, with -20 windchills, and I could care less. I just got home from Barbados, where it's 85-90. That's ridiculous. I get terrible headaches from the heat, and I was nearly sick the whole time I was there. On the bright side, I now have Barbadian coins and currency :smile
Me too. At least you guys are used to it. The Pacific Northwest never gets weather like this so nobody knows how to handle it.
