Yes, that exhibits definite doubling. Check yours against the CONECA master list here: http://varietyvista.com/Variety%20Master%20Listings/kennedy%20doubled%20dies%201971-1994.htm#_1971-D Unfortunately, your coin appears to closely match the SDO-001 description. SDO is a seldom used description (because it seldom occurs). It stands for "Series Doubled Obverse" and means that every coin in that series exhibits the same doubling. This doubling is on the Master Die (or possibly even the Master Hub). Let me explain: The Master Hub makes the Master Die which makes the Working Hubs which make the Working Dies. Normally, a hub doubled coin is made when the Working Hub impresses the design into the Working Die. It takes at least two impressions to fully transfer the design, and if the second impression is slightly off (for a number of reasons), then the result is a doubled die. However, if this slight misalignment occurs when the Master Hub is impressing the Master Die, then all of the subsequent hubs and dies made from that master will exhibit the same doubling. Essentially, what this means is that *all* of the dies exhibit this same doubling (of course, all of the coins also therefore exhibit this doubling). It's still cool, and still a great example of genuine doubling... its just not anything special, unique, or valuable.
