Doubled Die?

    I thought that the letters of EPU inside the banner looked quite a bit thicker than usual. What does everybody think?

    Fat doesn't necessarily mean doubled.

    I'm not seeing any evidence that suggests doubling in the Stars. EPU possibly but generally speaking, if EPU is actually doubled then the stars will back it up as the star tips would show splits of some type.

    I think the extras thickness you see on your half dollar. EPU, is just part of the design or on the master die. I see it on the 87S, 87D and the 87P in my collection (see attached photos).

    Or die wear can enlarge the devices. It is not hub doubling.

    I don’t think die wear plays a part here...my examples are all EDS..
