Doubled date on 2 euro coin?

    I guess this doubling is too pronounced to be MD.
    If so, why are the other fields not similarly affected?

    I am saying no to a doubled die. The shift would be to one side or the other but not to both sides. MD is my best guess.

    You have to excuse my inexperience, because the secondary images are raised above the surface, and not flat to the surface, i thought it was something else.

    My guess would be a worn die that is crumbling around the edges of the date.
