I remember the thread on here regarding the double-headed Caesar denarius, as I almost bought it but another poster here did & it turned out to be fake. Well, Good old Lanz has a similar listed on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/233979307844?hash=item367a40e744:g:NXAAAOSwuClggrA1
wow, 250k eBay points. And that's a counterfeit? I'm sure plenty of people would buy it without a doubt about its authenticity.
Lanz is the one that went to the dark side after the founder died or retired, right? People posted about that here.
Yes it seems that Lanz is schizophrenic , maybe stores of anti-psychotics have run out in Germany. He has had a nice run of genuine Demetrios Polioketes latterly, late Seleucid's and Aradian tets.
TY for sharing. Another forum talked about it : https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1052670/warning-counterfeit-julius-caesar-denarius-brockage
Sigh... I still can't get over that Lanz keeps selling those fake Mark Antony legionary denarii.... I figure Lanz would have figured out by now that they are fake???
It’s not that they haven’t figured it out. It’s their customers who haven’t figured it out. - Broucheion
Those who continue to shop the wares of fake sellers on the theory that some of their coins are genuine are part of the problem and deserve what they get. This is not just Lanz (who is the posterchild) but any seller that aspires to get rich on our stupidity.
Only 3 days to go...342 usd until now...lanz has been notified about the coin...and also no returns accepted...!
I’m surprised @Lolli the usual Lanz apologist, hasn’t popped in to say how Lanz never intentionally sells fakes.
